the park was established in 1939 and covers aprox. 1 million acres.The million park features several major
regions/ecosystems; (1.) Pacific coastline, (2.) Alpine areas, (3.) Glaciers,
(4.) Temperate Rainforest (5.) Drier east side forests.
Because of it's vast size and it's diversity that covers several distinct
regions there is literally hundreds of things to do and see in the Olympic
National Park... only a long vacation would allow a visitor to see most of the things the park has to
