Willapa Bay is located in Pacific County, WA state.
Willapa Bay is a mostly sheltered bay that is located behind the
Long Beach Peninsula - the peninsula offers
protection from the open ocean to the majority of the bay.
Willapa Bay is one of the largest estuary's on the US west coast... more than
half of the bay's surface area lies in the intertidal zone which is considered
on of the country's richest Oystering grounds.
The Willapa
Wildlife Refuge is located in the southwest section of the bay which
provides space to over 200 bird species, as well as other species including;
Salmon, Roosevelt Elk, Raccoons, and dozens of smaller species.
